Fartu bone.

Church and State

(If you don't mind me posting a translation for note-checking purposes...)

The majority of western countries have official churches. England, Sweden, and others have national churches. Italy and the countries of South America are to align [I think you meant "rektliniigitaj" here, "aligned"] with the Catholic church. In those countries, either the country serves the church, or the church serves the country. (Please correct me if I make mistakes!)

George Bush [I think his name should be rendered as 'Georgo Buŝo'] seems to want to combine church and state in the USA. I don't think that's a good idea.

- If a place of worship depended on money from the state, it will change with change [oops, you meant ŝanĝo] of state.
- If a state depended on church votes, it will not serve the non-worshipers well.

I think therefore separating church and state is a good idea.

What do you think? Be well.

When I looked it up, George Bush's name was transcribed as 'Georgo Buŝ' (see this Ĝangalo article)

But, yep. Otherwise, that's close to what I meant! What you wrote as '(Please correct me if I make mistakes!)' I meant more as '(Please correct me if I'm in error!)'. Do you know a better way to phrase that?

Thank you so much for looking it over and pointing out my errors.

About errors you said it correctly. Since you asked, here are other errors:

The first time you wrote "ekleziojn oficialojn".

Today, most people use -io country names instead of -ujo, but this isn't an error.

kombini eklezion kaj ŝtaton

maladorantojn - they don't professionally worship, so it would be ant instead of ist.

after pensas and another phrase, you need ke. I would phrase that sentence as: Mi tial pensas ke la disigo de la eklezio kaj ŝtato estas bona ideo. I believe tial was correct where it was, but I think it's more natural Esperanto to put it before the verb. You could also use apartigo instead of disigo. If separi is a word, I don't think I've ever seen it before...

change [oops, you meant ŝanĝo]

Yeah, originally I thought he meant that it will change with the blood of the state. I found that interesting. ;-)

Also, the transliteration is generally 'Georgo Buŝ' as used in Gxangalo.

On the last line, he actually said "Be good." (as in morally good) Although, I think his intent was to say "Be well." which would be "Fartu bone."

As for the content of the post, I'd say that I wholehearted agree. :)

Pri la enhavo, mi tutkore konsentas. :)
